| Simonsiella| Simonsiella Schmid 1922
Oral Health: Simonsiella species have been detected in dental plaque and saliva samples. While their role in oral health is not fully understood, some studies suggest that they may be associated with dental plaque formation and periodontal disease. However, further research is needed to elucidate the specific interactions between Simonsiella and oral health.
Gastrointestinal Health: Simonsiella has been isolated from fecal samples of both healthy individuals and those with gastrointestinal disorders. While its exact role in gastrointestinal health and disease is not well-characterized, its presence in the gut microbiota suggests that it may play a role in the microbial ecosystem of the digestive tract.
Potential Pathogenicity: Although Simonsiella is generally considered to be non-pathogenic, there have been rare reports of Simonsiella-associated infections in immunocompromised individuals. These infections are typically opportunistic and may manifest as bacteremia or localized infections. However, such cases are extremely rare and occur primarily in individuals with underlying health conditions.

Different labs use different software to read the sample. See this post for more details.
One lab may say you have none, another may say you have a lot! - This may be solely due to the software they are using to estimate.
We deem lab specific values using values from the KM method for each specific lab to be the most reliable.
