Common knowledge amoung some professionals (MD and ND):

  1. Vitamin D: Adequate vitamin D levels are important for overall health. Some studies suggest that maintaining adequate vitamin D levels might have a beneficial impact on breast cancer outcomes. However, further research is needed to establish a clear link between vitamin D supplementation and breast cancer prevention or treatment.

  2. Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Omega-3 supplements, containing EPA and DHA, have anti-inflammatory properties. Some research suggests that omega-3 fatty acids might have potential benefits in reducing inflammation and supporting overall health during breast cancer treatment. However, evidence supporting their use specifically for breast cancer is limited.

  3. Probiotics: Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that support gut health. During cancer treatment, especially chemotherapy and radiation therapy, the gut microbiota might be affected. Some individuals may consider probiotics to help maintain gut health and alleviate gastrointestinal side effects. However, the use of probiotics during cancer treatment should be approached cautiously, as certain probiotic strains might not be suitable for individuals with compromised immune systems.
