Magnesium: Some evidence suggests that magnesium deficiency can affect sleep quality. Magnesium supplements may help improve sleep in individuals with low magnesium levels. Magnesium can have a calming effect on the body and mind.
Valerian Root: Valerian root is an herbal supplement that has been used for centuries as a remedy for insomnia and anxiety. It may help promote relaxation and improve sleep quality for some individuals.
L-Theanine: Found in green tea, L-Theanine is an amino acid that may have calming effects. Some studies suggest it could help reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality, especially when combined with caffeine avoidance.
Probiotics: While more research is needed, some studies suggest that gut health can influence sleep patterns. Certain probiotics may have a positive impact on overall health, potentially affecting sleep indirectly by improving gut health and reducing inflammation.
5-HTP: 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is a compound that your body produces from the amino acid tryptophan. It plays a role in the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter involved in sleep regulation. Some people take 5-HTP supplements to aid sleep, although its effectiveness can vary among individuals.
