Berberine: Berberine is a compound found in certain plants and has been studied for its potential effects on blood sugar control. Some evidence suggests that berberine might help lower blood sugar levels, although its long-term safety and efficacy require further research.
Chromium: Chromium is a mineral that has been studied for its potential role in improving insulin sensitivity. Some studies suggest that chromium supplementation might have modest effects on glucose metabolism, but its impact on Type 2 diabetes management remains uncertain.
Probiotics: While not directly related to blood sugar regulation, some research suggests that probiotics might influence gut health and inflammation, potentially impacting overall health in individuals with Type 2 diabetes. Specific effects on blood sugar control require further investigation.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil might have potential benefits for cardiovascular health and inflammation, which are relevant to individuals with diabetes. Some studies suggest that omega-3 supplementation might have modest effects on lipid profiles but its direct impact on blood sugar control in Type 2 diabetes is not firmly established.
