Common knowledge amoung some professionals (MD and ND):
Vitamin D: Adequate levels of vitamin D might be beneficial for overall health, but its role in preventing or treating lung cancer is not definitive. Some studies have suggested that sufficient vitamin D levels might be associated with better outcomes in cancer patients, although further research is needed.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil have anti-inflammatory properties and might help alleviate certain treatment-related side effects, but their role in lung cancer prevention or treatment is not confirmed.
Probiotics: Probiotics are beneficial for gut health, immune function, and overall well-being. While a healthy gut microbiome is essential, there's no conclusive evidence suggesting that probiotics directly prevent or treat lung cancer.
Antioxidants: Some people consider antioxidants like vitamins C and E, as well as selenium, for their potential to counteract oxidative stress. However, evidence regarding their effectiveness in preventing or treating lung cancer is mixed, and high doses might interfere with cancer treatments.
