Skin and soft tissue infections: Corynebacterium tuberculostearicum may cause infections such as cellulitis, erysipelas, abscesses, or wound infections, particularly in immunocompromised individuals or those with underlying medical conditions. These infections can manifest as localized redness, swelling, pain, or purulent discharge at the site of infection.
Catheter-related infections: Corynebacterium species, including Corynebacterium tuberculostearicum, have been reported as rare causes of catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSIs) or other device-associated infections. These infections can occur in patients with indwelling medical devices, such as central venous catheters or urinary catheters, particularly in healthcare settings.
